Dispatching
Load Boards for Dispatchers: From Finding Freight to Managing Loads
Build a dispatcher workflow that connects load-board searches with carrier approval, truck assignments, driver instructions and delivery documents.

Load boards for dispatchers can support freight discovery, but the search is only one part of the job. Every suitable posting must still become a verified, approved and executable shipment.
For teams handling several trucks, the biggest improvement may come from organizing the handoff between search and operations rather than adding another source of listings.
Search against a specific truck profile
Know which carrier and truck the search represents. Use its equipment, available time, operating area and limitations.
Avoid collecting attractive postings without checking whether a particular vehicle can perform the work. A large list of options can create noise instead of useful choices.
Confirm that your access and use comply with the platform's current terms and the carrier's authorization.
Capture enough information for a decision
Use a consistent candidate record containing the listing reference, contact, equipment fit, appointments, total miles and proposed payment.
Mark unknowns clearly. If the weight or delivery time has not been confirmed, the offer is not ready for final approval.
Keep the source time so the team knows whether availability may have changed.
Separate screening from booking approval
Let the searcher identify suitable candidates, then apply the carrier's agreed approval process before a commitment is made.
A simple handoff might state: “Truck 04, ready Tuesday morning, 60 miles to pickup, dimensions confirmed, written delivery window pending.” That is more useful than forwarding a screenshot without context.
Record which option was approved and stop offering the truck as uncommitted once it is booked.
Transfer the final terms into operations
After agreement, check the written confirmation against the selected offer. Update the working load record with the final addresses, times, contacts and instructions.
Assign the driver and confirm receipt. Do not assume the driver's information is current just because the office has the latest attachment.
Track subsequent changes where the team can find them.
Keep learning from the results
Review which searches produced suitable loads, how much time they required and where handoffs failed. A missed detail may indicate a process issue rather than a need for another subscription.
Distinguish performance of the search tool from performance of the dispatcher. Listing availability, carrier requirements and response timing all influence the outcome.
